Honourable Visitors | Baho Neza Mwana Street Children’s Village
There was a wonderful buzz and energy amongst the team when a large team of honorable visitors came to Baho Neza Mwana Street Children’s Village. The visitors included the Government Minister of Migeprof, the Vice President of Senate in Parliament, one Senator, two Honorable Deputies in Parliament, the Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Children (NCC), the Mayor of Rusizi District, the Vice Mayor in charge of social affairs in Rusizi District, an Army representative of Western Province, a delegation from Kigali of around 20 people and a big team from Rusizi District and Sectors. It was an exciting event for everyone involved!
The children at Baho Neza Mwana took the opportunity to show their talents in traditional Rwandan dancing and drumming. One child did a speech explaining why children end up living on the streets, how their lives are better at Baho Neza Mwana and how the children have a shared vision of returning to their family wherever possible, which is what Rwanda Aid strives to do for the children.
All the visitors were delighted to see how well-run the village is, and in particular the Minister of Migeprof commented on how good Baho Neza Mwana is compared to other street children’s centres they have visited. The Minister thanked Rwanda Aid for our contribution to the protection and promotion of Rwandan families through helping vulnerable children, and in turn Rwanda Aid thanked all the visitors for their support, positive feedback and for taking the time to visit our wonderful Baho Neza Mwana village.
